I have always wanted to be a pilot... when I was in the military I should have listened to my brother-in-law when he told me they were needing pilots back in 1969, but I didn't. While in the military, on my off days I would go to the airfield and catch rides in helicopters...one time at Ft. Sill, Ok. I actually rode with my old elementary school principal from when I grew up back in Texas...small world (lol)...thought I was going to get my first stick time in a huey until I found out who the test pilot was (lol). But I had lots of other rides in everything except a cobra (darn!) However they always used to offer me the tail boom to ride, but I declined (lol).
