I put in 25 yrs flying law enforcement in a tiny HU-300 with the City of Lakewood, Ca. My partner was an LASD. Yeah, there are those who say we are not as effective if we are non sworn. I handled the coordination of about 30 helicopters flying in and out of the Cerritos Air Crash back in 86 after LASD assigned me the task of being an airborne air traffic controller in over the crash site. This is when tv news helos orbited instead of stacking themselves Ive been shot at and Ive had 2 forced landings, one over gangland at night from 450 ft. Both were dead engines. My chief pilot just retired after 30+ yrs. Boy, he needed to go. He got grumpy toward the end. He's amassed 20,000+ hrs in a 300 alone. Ive got around 17,000 total, 16,000 of it in 300's. Flight Experience
I got into helos at a flight school that taught both FW and RW. I taught both. After that I did law enforcement, 135, corporate helo stuff. I started with airplanes in 71. My husband and I are building an RV-7A.
About Me
Retired from City of Lakewood, Ca. due to Parkinsons symptoms. I flew a 300 as a civilian law enforcement helicopter pilot. I just let my medical lapse. FAA doesnt need to know. Flew for 34 yrs at various companies before Lakewood.
