joehupp → mlanger: Maria, those photos from the GoPro nosecam look terrific! I like them - I'm looking for a cam for paintball..... would you recommend the GoPro for that??

- mlanger Definitely. Waterproof, easy to mount on a helmet or chest or whatever. You do need to be close to your subject to get details, though. It's got a very wide angle lens, which makes everything seem farther away.

Depending on where I am, it's either of these:
DBO - Dubbo, NSW, Australia or YMDG/DGE - Mudgee, NSW, Australia

YMDG is home to the Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC), home to the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days (MSFFD) - check out http://www.arec.com.au/ for more info!

Hi all RotorSpacers!

Just curious to know something: What is your favourite helicopter and why??? I have three:

Bell JetRanger 206B-III - the very first helicopter I ever went up in.... and again the following year. I enjoyed it on both occasions - there's nothin' quite like breathing in burnt AvTur and tasting it every time you eat or drink!

Robinson R44 Raven II - experienced the R44 for the first time in 2010.... first time in a piston engined helicopter! What a experience that one was - cold start and I got to be the guinea pig to go up and was up in the air for 22 minutes!

Eurocopter EC120B Colibri - my first experience (but did it twice) with this French brand was also in 2010! I did the first one from the rear seat and ended up tone deaf... second time around, I was in the front seat and the pilot showed me how his machine worked, what to look at and how to lift off.

I got into helicopters due to a relative convincing me to have a go at a joyflight at a local field day in 2006 - hell, I have not looked back since! I would rather be flown around than have someone drive me! My favs are the Bell JetRanger 206B-III, Robinson R44 Raven II and Eurocopter EC120B Colibri - and yes, that is the R44 in my profile pic!

Just a quick note to introduce myself. I'm Joe Hupp and I am from Dubbo, NSW, Australia - I'm 26 years old and work in a abattoir as a skins labourer.

I fell in love with helicopters when I was visiting family in another town not far from Dubbo - my aunty convinced me to give it a go. I was a tad apprehensive at first - anyway, I decided to give it a go! Boy, was it fun - this first experience was in a Bell 206B-III JetRanger, VH-JAK (see attached photo). My most recent flights were in a Robinson R44 Raven II, VH-RIZ (click link below) and a Eurocopter EC120B Colibri, VH-AUQ

I'm seriously thinking of going out and having a go at getting my PPL(H) with a view of getting a CPL(H) and TE!
