Major changes to the airframe in order to get the CG even lower. I keep frying the mixer/speed controller. Working throught those issues and God willing, hope to do flight prior to Thanksgiving. Regards, Dave

When I upgraded the motors, I failed to upgrade the battery and mixer. My thinking was that "what's a few volts less?" Foolish on my part because the motors pulled too much electricity through mixer....smelled wires burning. Fortunately, the motors are ok, but I need a new mixer and upgraded battery. Sorry everyone.   Dave

hkutcher It could be worse. When you self-assemble, you can just install whatever parts you want. When you start putting humans aboard, everything has to be certified, insured, approved, inspected, stamped... At least you're not waiting for approval.

davh12 Rotor-prop teetering hub/horns are almost complete. It's steady but slow, shaping, balance check  and so on. Unless unforseen mechanical  issues arise, tether flight tomorrow.   Dave

Rotor-prop teeter horns are complete, only rough cut. Second tether flight tomorrow....as long as there are no unforeseen mechnical set backs.

Still a bit of instablility between the 10 and 5 o'clock, I assume excessive blade back flapping.  I had forgotten that there are a handful of considerations when scaling down or up between small and full scale. Most RC helos have rigid hubs and utilize blade bending to negate disymmetry of lift, so this week end I will be restoring the hub assembly back to and "RC" heli style hub. The mass/weight consideration apply to larger and full scale helos that utilize semi-rigid rotor hubs that teeter. The directional control will still be attained with the mechanical morphing airframe. In this vid clip I state that I will use a 3 bladed rigid, but only if this week-end proves unsuccessful. Lift to weight ratios still good. Dave          less

Structual CF parts are ok, but there was a helo that was struck by lightening....CF is a real good for conduction of electricity. the lightening bolt exited out of one of the TR blades. Cannot remember where or how recent it was. Blew out the seem where the CF skin molded together. I think that they even did tests in a wind tunnel and hit it with electricity just to prove it.   Dave

I&#039;ve seen a lot of great ideas from other independents, but industry has stage fright about considering their ideas. Guess it&#039;s because we&#039;re not certified engineers...just a bunch of mechanically inclined wing nuts with an idea.<br>www.envisionhelicopters.com
