I have a 10-12 hour flight from WA to AZ up for grabs at $300/hour in a Raven II. Another Rotorspace member took advantage of this offer in May. I'm heading back to AZ in September.
Turbotay19 → donhillberg: you've made a pretty cool helicopter, you still based out of AJO?

See it on youTube @ Rotormouse.mov or at Oshkosh 1995.mov.

I think it's getting better. I might have a job lined up teaching part time if I can get my CFI soon.

Turbotay19 → kwheli70: thanks for the friend request, I noticed you go to helistream how is it there?
April 14, 2011

Helistream is very good... though I must admit I didn't really check the other schools as Helistream flies out of SNA which is very close to home for me:-)

I've managed to stick to one main CFI but have flown with 5 different ones for a variety of reasons (schedule, check ride, etc)... i think it is good to have variety as they all have different styles... Rod is still there... it's his company after all :-)
Turbotay19 → mlanger: Hey Maria, I saw on your page you had some pictures from Brewster Wa. did you see any S58's and 55's? I tried to travel out there cause I heard the airport was stock full of them.

(A friend of mine used to own it.) They keep them hangared now because the airport owner was trying to charge very high parking fees for the ramp. Not terribly friendly folks; not sure how they'd welcome a visitor. You'd stand a better chance of seeing them during summer months when they're working.
Turbotay19
lol do some sit ups before each flight. Believe me I fought this till the last straw, they finally said the 300 was going to be in maint. till March. That's when I tapped out lol

Funny that, I'll be in the same boat come April, back into the 22 for my last 25 hours or so. Better start shredding the weight!

go to a health website and find your daily calorie intake, keep it below that number and do a light jog for an hour every day. I was able to shred 25 pounds doing this.

That was a rip on the 22's weight, not yours. :-) At a Ray Prouty seminar, he showed a chart: the Osprey had a hurricaine strength downwash, the R-22 was diagramed BELOW a slight breeze. Fun, but lightweight.

Just had a Osprey overfly the office yesterday... surprisingly quiet once it was not overhead... our office is on the approach path for a Marine base so we get all sorts of aircraft though first time for Osprey
