Hey, you can still fly with a licensed pilot. Maybe you can find someone that wants to split the cost of a rental with you. You DID say that your favorite helo is a "Mosquito" . Good luck, Joey.

Still gonna fly. I really enjoy flying with my CFI anyway. Just wanted to check off "Solo" on my bucket list.

JoeyGot a letter about the class III medical certificate. FAA says not NO but, HELL NO!!
JoeyFinally... I have everything from all doctors to send to the FAA for my class III medical. After all of this, I hope I will get the benefit of the doubt. :)

Gotta get letters and records from 3 doctors. Still working part time as a flight medic.

I've heard of pilots coming back to flying after a heart attach, but either way it sounds like between sailing, camping diving and riding your harley, you can keep pretty busy. Fingers crossed Joey. Keep us posted... Mike

Maria, the reason for my reluctance to blame settling is that I've been in settling with power intentionally for training and it is hard for me to believe that hitting the ground in that condition would be all that survivable. By the time that you realized what was happening you would be trying to fly out of it, possibly winding up outside of the compound somewhere. I know that the Blackhawk has a pretty good energy absorbing landing gear and crashworthy interior, so you and Hanna could be right, but there were reportedly no injuries. So I'm staying neutral until we know more. less

Thanks. Couldn't open that either. Must be my computer :-(

JoeyFlew a few hours yesterday. The weather was great. I shot about 25 minutes of tornado damage video. I flew a 35 mile path of awesome devastation. I'll try to extract some highlights.

I can't comment on exactly how many aircraft were lost, but it was a significant amount.

JoeyI'm supposed to fly about 5 hours Saturday. It's been tornado weather around here for 3 days. I hope the weather will cooperate for me.
