911thumper Awesome sounds great. Good luck in your training and stick with it. It's the best thing in life when you get in the rotor and hover for your first time.

Dont really know whats to offer of there but figured that would be a good starting place. I agree that if there is LE guys they seem to know and re-act together better. Just my 2 cents but I have been in some scary stuff and it made it easier knowing that the guy next to me was trained the same way as I was.

Not a bad company in general, but their Qatar contract was the worst!!! What are you looking to do with them, Civipol, WPPS, static security, PSD or something else? I work and have worked with a lot of LE guy's and would prefer to work with them over here than these immature military kids! They just seem a lot more professional! Good luck in your endeavors, maybe we might even meet up over here?

He's in Kabul right now I think but he travels back amnd fourth from Iraq to Afgan. Im also going over for security and not flying. Im short on hours and figured I would also use the money to help with time building. Just figured 18 yrs LE I could go and do a couple years and have enough to pay for the time and turbine costs to gain hours. I want to come back and get on with a LE unit somewhere. Be safe and good luck on your ventures.

Currently I am contracted doing Security for The Department of Defense, hoping it will finance the rest of my ratings. The other day I spoke to the project manager for the State Department's aviation unit located at the same base I'm at. I plan to come back over here or in Afghanistan with them when I complete my ratings. Who does your friend work with, and where is he located? It's a small world in the Security Contracting Industry, just like it is in the helicopter industry, I might know or know of them! Thanks for the add and the comment.  less
