Hi All,
I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know a little about myself. I really like this site and hope that I can be of some help to anyone looking into Law Enforcement flying or flying in general.
My name is Mike Traficano and I live and work in Mesa, Arizona USA. I have been flying for the Mesa Police Department since 2001 and received all my training through the Police Department from our in-house CFI's. I have been in Law Enforcement since 1984. I did 3.5 years in the Marine Corps as an MP prior to being hired by Mesa PD in 1988. I had no aviation experience prior to entering our Air Unit as an Observer. I am lucky enough to fly a MD500E for my job and I really enjoy it. I believe it is the best helicopter for Law Enforcement, bar none. I earned my CFI in November of last year and now I help train the incoming Officers and do NVG and Unit re-currency training. It has been an awesome opportunity that I hope to turn into a retirement job sometime down the road.
If anyone has any questions about Law Enforcement flying I will be happy to try to answer them for you. You can find me on FaceBook as well at Michael J. Traficano. I hope to network with many of you and would love to meet you if you ever find yourself in Mesa, Arizona. Thanks, Mike T.
