  Can traffic patrol with a passenger (reporter) be done under Part 91?

  This is the Washington DC FOX AStar. I flew it over RFK stadium for a station promo. The ship in the background, I flew down from Philly for the shoot. West Coast Helicopters (now Helinet) was the contractor.

  I did my ENG training in this ship in the busiest airspace in the world. Pretty wild ride. JFK, LGA, TEB, EWR.

  I'd love to get started in ENG work. If anyone has any leads, please send them my way. I have 2500 hours in helicopters, including 350 hours in Long Rangers. I also have a TON of time on aerial photo gigs.

  You should be able to get in with Helicopters Inc with those type of hours.

  I sent Helicopters Inc a resume before Christmas but haven't heard anything. I don't have enough turbine time -- only 350 hours. That's a big problem for a lot of employers -- although frankly, I don't see much difference between turbine and non-turbine aircraft once you get the engine started.

  350 hours is a hell of a lot more than I have. I agree, a helicopter is a helicopter. Once you can start the engine, I don't see the difference either. Hopefully you'll hear back from them.

  Thanks. I'll likely follow up in a week or so. But I know from experience that the best way to get interviewed for a pilot job is to have a connection in the company. They get so many applicants. It's the only way they can distinguish who might work out for them.

  I agree 100%. I got my current job by knowing a guy who knew the owners very well. I didn't have any Robbie time at all and I still got the job.

  Sometimes I wonder why companies even have public job postings. Just let word out through the grapevine and people will come.
