  I don't know whole lot about everything involved with becoming a heli pilot. Can anyone give me some good advise about raising money to fly and school recommendations? I am located in Abilene Texas.

  I can recommend you some schools, are you planning to do your training in Texas? Regarding funding, are you planning to go to college or are you looking towards loans?

  I can't help with schools but financially, I've had to bite the bullet and took out a $55,000 loan to get it all over and done with. I've chosen the correspondence course because it'll force me to study everything and not just what's in the exams. I find the correspondence course is also more cost effective.

  If I can think of anything else, I'll put it up.

  I am a retired Firefighter/Paramedic. I work part time at a funeral home, and as a flight medic. I just save a little and fly about 3 to 4 hours a month.
