  Well I thought I better introduce myself here, I am the resident simulator nerd in this area.  I work for a helicopter simulator manufacturer and will be happy to answer any simulator questions anyone has from home sims to commercial sim questions or issues,  :)

  I am currently working with a design team on a RC observation helicopter. The owner brought in a game flight sim seating unit. I have been discussing with the owner and a couple pilots the use of helicopter flight sim training prior to flying the real thing. We currently have a video screen unit which projects screenery of about 10' wide by 8' tall. I forgot the name of the program that is being used but I know the owner also obtained MS flight sim. I have heard of MS Flight Sim being used for flight training here and there. Once we have the full installation in place, I was going to bring in my pilot friend who is a CFI for him to give it a reveiw and his thoughts on potential helicopter pilot training. I would say this is a home sim. I am going to be one of the RC pilots and upon the pilots review of the unit, If proved promising, I am seriously considering being the first to prove its usefulness. What say you?
