Prof. Foster suggests exposure to light and dark can eliminate jet lag/fatigue. If clinical opthamology bores you, jump ahead to 9:50. So for pilots to stay awake at night, they should expose themselves to light. Trouble is, that negatively impacts your ability to _see_ at night. Perhaps expose yourself to light with your eyes closed. Anyone have suggestions on fighting fatigue for night flying?

I did it the easy way, of sorts, by getting all of my experience through army aviation. Don't get me wrong, I am not diminishing the quality of military pilots at all, but not having to spend the money to get to that level has been nice. We definitely pay in our own way. I look forward to transitioning to the civilian market, but I am also nervous at the same time. I imagine it is a different world, different mind set. I am anxious to meet the professionals on the other side of the aisle and also realize I still have a ton to learn. less
joehuppYou bloody little ripper! Friends of mine from Orange, NSW, Australia are getting the region's first Robinson R66 Turbine (due delivery date sometime in July) - the first bird of it's type in our region, friends!

fly911I agree, Maria. PPRUNE has some of the most unprofessional commenters out there. I think that the UK pilots have hang-ups about American pilots. I think that it's a few bad apples that ruin it for everybody.

To blog about PPRUNE, I'd have to actually LOOK at it. I don't think my blood pressure meds would cover the experience.

Congratulations! I was in the same boat; high BP, lost 45 pounds last summer, feel great. I suspect that when my divorce is finalized I'll be able to get off my BP meds. (Too stressed out now.) Best wishes to you!
hkutcherNice apps. Of course, folks can also use common sense or do it on paper (since your iPad battery could run out). For what it's worth. http://www.gyronimosystems.com/
